The experimental electronic, optic, and ganzfeld dome exposure array used for exposing research participants to pure, monochromatic light at any point along the electromagnetic spectrum visible to humans. White light was generated by a Xenon Arc lamp, and then passed through a grating monochromator and iris diaphragm to allow only 10-14 nm halfpeak bandwidth of pure colored light to enter the dome and then the eyes. The domes were coated with a highly reflective paint and ultimately provide a uniform, patternless stimulus that encompassed the subject’s entire visual field. This array and housing were ultimately named the LEW or Light Emitting Workstation.
